9/04/99 Quintiles Transnational (QTRN)

Points to watch:  A bottom appears to be in place for QTRN, and the stock looks ready to move higher.  After hitting a high last December, the stock declined into early August before finding support near 31, a level which also provided support in December 1997.  Daily OBV began rising sharply shortly after the stock hit bottom, and on Friday the stock flirted with resistance at 38.94 (the 8/18 high) intraday before backing off  to close at 37.88.  A break above the 8/18 high of 38.94 would give a short term buy signal.  Upside resistance is at 41 and then 44.75.
