BURR-BROWN CORP (BBRC, 47)- The company announced a 3 for 2 stock split.  The shares rose 1.5 in after hours trading on the news.

JO-ANN STORES INC (JAS.a, 13)- The fabric store operator warned that lower than expected same store sales will result in fourth quarter earnings coming in below current analyst's estimates.  The company said it still expects earnings to top the $1.08 it earned in last year's fourth quarter.

NAVISITE INC (NAVI, 55.88)- The web hosting provider reported a narrower than expected fiscal first quarter loss of $3.49.  Analysts were looking for a loss of $4.03.  Revenues in the quarter increased to $5.9 million from $1.7 million last year.  The shares added 2.13 in after hours trading on the news.

OSICOM TECHNOLOGIES (FIBR, 21.75)- The maker of fiber optic products earned 14 cents per share in its third quarter, compared to last year's loss of 50 cents.  Revenues increased 34% to $18.9 million in the quarter.  The shares jumped 6.75 in after hours trading on the news.

PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGIES (PTIX, 20.13)- The maker of products for telecom networks has agreed to acquire MicroLegend Telecom Systems for $2.166 million shares in a $43.6 million deal.  PTIX will take a fourth quarter charge of 14 cents per share to cover acquisition related costs.  The shares dipped 0.68 in after hours trading on the news.

SPORTS AUTHORITY (TSA, 2.13)- The sporting goods retailer said same store sales fell 4.6% in November, and total sales fell to $85.2 million from $99.1 million.  The company said its men's apparel business remains weak.

ADC TELECOMMUNICATIONS (ADCT, 54.19)- The maker of broadband networking equipment beat estimates by 4 cents as fourth quarter earnings increased 24% to 46 cents per share.  Revenues increased 32% to $582 million in the quarter.  The shares rose 1.50 in after hours trading on the news.

CASELLA WASTE SYSTEMS (CWST,  17.43)- The waste management company met expectations as it earned 29 cents per share in its second quarter.  Revenues in the quarter increased to $56.1 million from last year's $47.8 million.

CSK AUTO CORP (CAO, 17.75)- The auto parts retailer beat estimates by two cents as third quarter earnings increased to 49 cents per share, excluding charges, from last year's 37 cents.  Revenues rose 26% to $331.3 million in the quarter, and same store sales increased 2%.  The company said its revenues were negatively impacted by unseasonably warm weather early in the quarter.  The company said operating profit rose to 10.3% of net sales from last year's 8.9%.

FINISH LINE INC (FINL, 6.31)- The apparel retailer said third quarter revenues increased 10% to $120.8 million, and same store sales fell 4%.  The company said same store footwear sales rose 5%, but same store apparel sales fell 24% in the quarter.  Finish Line warned that lower than expected apparel sales will result in a third quarter loss of ($0.08)-($0.10), compared to expectations of a profit of one cent.  The company expects the negative trend to continue into the fourth quarter, and now sees earnings of $0.15-$0.20.  Analysts were expecting the company to earn 32 cents in the fourth quarter.

HOT TOPIC INC (HOTT, 43.13)- The specialty apparel retailer said November same store sales rose 31.9%, and total revenues increased 72% to $13.37 million.  The company also said it will split its shares 2 for 1.  The shares rose 3.88 to 47 in after hours trading on the news.

IXNET INC (EXNT, 22.13)- The provider of networking services reported a wider than expected fourth quarter loss of 43 cents per share, compared to expectations of a loss of 33 cents.  Revenues rose 97.5% in the quarter to $20.9 million. 

JETFORM CORP (FORM, 4.75)- The maker of web based business forms software reported a narrower than expected second quarter loss of four cents per share, compared to expectations of a loss of 9 cents.  Revenues fell 17% to $25 million in the quarter.  The company warned that its business continues to suffer from the effects of a Y2K related spending slowdown, and it expects third quarter earnings to be below the second quarter's.  Jetform also announced the resignation of its CEO, effective immediately. The shares rose 1.13 in after hours trading on the news.

ANALOG DEVICES (ADI, 57.5)- The maker of integrated circuits beat estimates by 5 cents as fourth quarter earnings rose 150% to 40 cents per share.  Revenues increased 45% to $431 million, and gross margins rose to 52.2% from 49.7%.  The company attributed the strong results to better than expected revenue growth and margin improvements.  The company said it expects first quarter earnings to come in above current expectations.  The company sees $0.43-$0.45, analysts were looking for 35 cents.

CABLE DESIGN TECHNOLOGIES (CDT, 24)- The maker of networking products beat estimates by three cents as fiscal first quarter earnings rose 8.9% to 45 cents per share.  Revenues increased 8.1% to $187.6 million in the quarter.  The company warned that second quarter earnings will be $0.30-$0.35, compared to analysts' expectations of $0.36.

CMGI INC (CMGI, 147)- The company is reportedly planning to sell shares in its AltaVista unit next March in a $5 billion I.P.O., according to a story in today's Financial Times.  The shares are up 2 in pre-open trading on the news.

COMVERSE TECHNOLOGY (CMVT, 120.88)- The maker of communications software beat estimates by two cents as third quarter earnings increased 53% to 56 cents per share.  Revenues increased 25% to $221.8 million in the quarter.  The shares are up 6.13 to 127 in pre-open trading on the news.

FIDELITY HOLDINGS INC (FDHG, 16)- The company announced a 3 for 2 stock split.

INTIMATE BRANDS (IBI, 43)- The retailer said November same store sales rose 9%, and revenues increased 16.5% to $400 million.

JACK HENRY & ASSOCIATES (JKHY, 39.56)- The provider of ATM products warned that a Y2K related slowdown will cause second quarter earnings to fall short of expectations.  The company sees earnings of 17 to 21 cents in the quarter, analysts were looking for 40 cents.  The company sees second quarter revenues falling 10% to $43-$48 million.

MEDCO RESEARCH (MRE, 27)- The company has agreed to be acquired by King Pharmaceuticals (KING, 46) in a $350 million all stock deal that values MRE at $31.50 per share.

PALL CORP (PLL, 23.43)- The maker of filtration products beat estimates by two cents as fiscal first quarter earnings increased 83% to 20 cents per share.  Revenues increased 6.9% to $267.1 million in the quarter.  The company attributed its better than expected showing to strong sales, increased margins, and the benefits of restructuring.

SEACHANGE INTERNATIONAL (SEAC, 25.25)- The company announced a 3 for 2 stock split.

TECH DATA CORP (TECD, 25)- The computer distributor beat estimates by a penny as it earned 60 cents per share in its third quarter.  The company earned 63 cents in last year's third quarter.  Revenues increased 31.5% to $4.31 billion.  Separately, the company said its President had resigned to pursue other interests.  The shares are down 1.25 in pre-open trading on the news.

YAHOO! INC (YHOO, 212.75)- The Internet portal will be added to the S&P 500 Index after the close on December 7th.  The shares are up 20.38 in pre-open trading on the news

ALBERTSON'S INC (ABS, 36)- The supermarket operator missed estimates by 15 cents as it earned 44 cents per share in the third quarter.  Revenues rose 1.6% to $9 billion in the quarter, and same store sales rose 2.2%.  The company attributed the poor showing to the costs of combining its American Stores acquisition and the effects of store divestures.  The company also warned that full year earnings will be $2.22 per share, analysts were looking for $2.59.

AXOGEN LTD (AXG, 32.63)- Drugmaker Elan Corp (ELN, 27.25) will acquire the remaining shares of the company for $24.56 per share in a $182.8 million deal.

BROCADE COMMUNICATIONS (BRCD, 320)- The maker of fibre channel networking products beat estimates by four cents as it earned 12 cents per share in its fourth quarter, compared to last year's loss of 17 cents.  Revenues rose 457% to $30.1 million in the quarter.  The shares are up 5 3/8 in pre-open trading on the news.

EMUSIC.COM INC (EMUS, 16)- The Internet based music retailer has agreed to acquire Tunes.com, an operator of music related web sites, for $130 million in an all stock deal.  The shares are up 2 in pre-open trading on the news.

INTEGRATED HEALTH SERVICES (IHS, 0.43)- The health services provider will miss a payment due on $150 million of debt.  The company said it is continuing talks to restructure its debt.

LASER VISION CENTERS (LVCI, 13)- The maker of excimer lasers beat estimates by four cents as second quarter earnings increased 180% to 14 cents per share.  Revenues increased 100% to $20.84 million in the quarter.  The shares are up 4 1/2 to 17 1/2 in after hours trading on the news.

MOLEX INC (MOLX, 43)- The company will be added to the S&P 500 after the close on November 30th.  The shares are up 6 3/4 in after hours trading on the news.

OLD KENT FINANCIAL (OK, 36.68)- the company will join the S&P 500 after Wednesday's close.

OSHMAN'S SPORTING GOODS (OSH, 1.75)- The sporting goods retailer's third quarter loss widened to 62 cents per share from last year's loss of 35 cents. Revenues increased 1.3% to $65.14 million in the quarter, and same store sales rose 3.5%.

CK WITCO CORP (CNW, 10.38)- The chemical company has agreed to sell its textile dyes operations to Yorkshire Group Plc in a cash and stock deal valued at $86 million.

EQUANT NV (ENT, 102)- The telecom company announced a secondary offering of 26 million share, with all of the shares on offer being sold by existing shareholders.  The offering represents 13% of the total shares outstanding.  The shares are down 5% in European trading on the news.

FANNIE MAE (FNM, 65.68)- The mortgage company received a favorable mention in this weekend's Barron's.  A money manager said the stock is worth $85-$90 per share.

FREESERVE PLC (FREE, 48.5)- The provider of free Internet access services is reportedly considering an e-commerce joint venture with WH Smith Group Plc, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

HANSON PLC (HAN, 41.31)- The building products group is reportedly considering making a $2.4 billion bid for Pioneer International Ltd, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

HEALTHEON/WEB MD (HLTH, 44.75)- Australia's News Corp (NWS, 34.75) is reportedly considering taking a 10% stake in the company, according to Monday's Financial Times.  The stock is up 3.25 in pre-open trading on the news.

HOLLINGER INC (HLGCF, 9)- The newspaper publisher's third quarter loss narrowed to 11 cents per share from last year's loss of 71 cents.  Revenues fell 5.1% to C$757 million in the quarter.  The company attributed the loss to start up costs at its National Post newspaper, and to increased expenditures to develop its Internet properties.

INFOSYS TECHNOLOGIES (INFY, 219.25)- The Indian software maker announced a 2 for 1 stock split.

MAYTAG CORP (MYG, 45.56)- The appliance maker received a favorable mention in this weekend's Barron's.  The company was mentioned as an undervalued turnaround play.

PLAYTEX PRODUCTS (PYX, 13)- The maker of personal care products received a favorable mention in this weekend's Barron's.  A money manager said the stock would trade at $20-$23 if its shares were valued similarly to comparable companies.

REDBACK NETWORKS (RBAK, 136.5)- The broadband networking company has agreed to acquire privately held optical broadband company Siara Systems for 31.3 million shares of Redback stock in a merger valued at $4.3 billion.  The shares are down 3 points in pre-open trading on the news.
